Machines offered in a release are original Tower Optical viewers retired from public service, manufactured in Norwalk, Connecticut between 1933 and the final production run in the 1990s. Each machine is professionally refurbished in our shop before shipment: optics, mechanism, and hardware brought back to specification. Finishes are original and carry the wear of service; this is intentional and is not a defect.
Each machine ships with its original shop card and a signed, hand-written provenance report recording the posts it held, the years it held them, and its service history. Reports describe the machine's history as recorded in our files.
At reservation, buyers choose free-use (flat faceplate installed), coin-operated, or free-use with the original coin mechanism installed. Configuration is set during refurbishment and may be changed later by our shop; contact us for service.
Each machine sold is covered by a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser, honored by The Tower Optical Company's Norwalk shop. Machines ship palletized from Norwalk, Connecticut. Freight within the contiguous 48 United States is included in the purchase price. Alaska, Hawaii, and international shipments are quoted individually. Optional white-glove installation is available and quoted separately. Delivery timing is confirmed directly with the buyer after reservation.
Deposits are processed by Stripe on Stripe's secure checkout: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or U.S. bank transfer (ACH). The balance is payable by card, ACH, or wire; a formal invoice is available on request. Sales tax is collected where required by law.
To see how this page is working, we keep a private record on our own server of anonymous page activity: which machines are viewed, how far the page is read, and which checkout steps are reached. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, records no IP addresses, and holds nothing that could identify you. It is never shared or sold, and it is deleted after 180 days.
This page also loads Google Analytics, which does set cookies in your browser and is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Each machine is unique. A machine is reserved by paying the $500 deposit at checkout (see Deposits below) or by arrangement with us; the reservation holds that specific machine. [Cancellation and return policy to be defined with counsel.]
Any available machine may be held with a $500 deposit, paid on the same secure checkout. A deposit takes that machine off the market for 14 days while the balance is arranged by card, ACH, or wire. The deposit is fully refundable and is applied to the purchase price. If the sale is not completed within the hold window, we refund the deposit in full and return the machine to availability; a deposit is never forfeited. [To be reviewed with counsel.]
